House Account Changes

Published on 29th June 2019 in Guests News

The Club is introducing a facility for members to pay their house accounts by direct debit.  This is a quite separate change from the member card requirements which are being reviewed and will be detailed before the financial year-end. The features of the new direct debit arrangement are:

  1. From 1st July, house accounts will only be available for members who have direct debit arrangements in place or who have credited their accounts with funds to spend at the Club. Funds can be credited by cash or card at the office, in the bar or at the Golf Service Centre.
  2. The balance of the house account at the end of each month will be direct debited to the member’s nominated bank or credit card account on the 15thday of the following month.
  3. Of course, a member may query any charges or make payment by any other method before the direct debit is processed on the 15thof the month.
  4. Members will not be charged a fee for the direct debit, but if paying by credit card, the usual 1.35% fee as presently applies, will continue. There is no fee if the transfer is from a bank account.
  5. The arrangement is provided through Ezidebit, which is one of Australia’s largest payment facilitators and which offers market-leading security and reliability.

We expect that considerable efficiencies will result from staff being freed from pursuing overdue house accounts.  From a member’s viewpoint, payment by direct debit is convenient and time-saving.  Members may also be spared the embarrassment of having playing rights suspended when, for example, they overlook an account while on extended holidays.

In order to maintain the continuity of your house account, we suggest that you advise the office of your nominated account details or complete the online process before 30th June 2019.
