Women’s Invitational Wrap Up

Published on 27th May 2025 in Club Events, Guests News, Latest News, Public Latest News

The Women’s Invitational event began with a quintessentially brisk Melbourne morning — beanies, gloves, and hand warmers were the accessories of choice. Yet, true to Melbourne’s unpredictable climate, the clouds soon parted, the by the afternoon the sun had made a welcome appearance.

Nearly 120 women golfers took to the fairways, embracing the inclusive and vibrant spirit that defines SVGC. The event brought together players from local public courses and prestigious private clubs, all of whom experienced first-hand what makes Spring Valley so special.

Special thanks to our PGA Teaching Professional, Jake Fullerton, was stationed on the 10th tee, providing expert swing tips and encouragement — a valued touchpoint that was appreciated by players of all skill levels.

Congratulations to our winners on the day:

  • Jayne Copeland, Dale Gilkes, and Cathy Dixon from Albert Park Golf Club, who played under the guidance of our Women’s President, Dot George

A heartfelt thank you to the women’s committee and to all the women who volunteered to play and host on the day. Your efforts helped bring this event to life and made the day truly special. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’ve received glowing feedback from our guests, who especially praised the exceptional hospitality, friendly staff, course conditions, and the delicious luncheon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us.
