Vale – Lois Matthews

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our much-loved member, Lois Matthews.

Lois was a cherished part of our club for an extraordinary 43 years, embodying the true spirit of friendship, dedication, and community. While not a regular player in later years, her love for the game never faded, and she always relished the chance to enjoy a round, especially her much-loved 9 holes.

Throughout her time with us, Lois achieved notable success, including winning the Mollie Thiele event in 2010 and the Spring Valley Shield in 2012. Among her proudest achievements was her B Grade Championship victory, a reflection of her determination and passion for the sport.

Lois also gave generously of her time and energy to support others. She was a valued member of our Interclub team and contributed as both player and caddy for the Pennant team over several years, always demonstrating encouragement, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.

Above all, Lois will be remembered for her warmth, loyalty, and the friendships she built over more than four decades at the club. Our sincere condolences are extended to Lois’s family and friends.
