Nine Hole Handicapping
Published on 10th December 2025 in GSC/Pro, Guests News, Latest News, Public Latest NewsThe Match Committee is now pleased to announce that from Wednesday 26th November members will be able to play nine holes and have that score count towards their handicap.
Many of our members work during the week and therefore only have the weekend to play competitive rounds that will influence your handicap. In recognition of this and the desire by some to play more rounds that impact on one’s handicap the decision was made to allow 9 hole handicapping in the ‘social play’ part of the timesheets.
This opportunity is open to all members in any category.
Simply, if you wish to play and have your nine hole round count towards your handicap then the following must occur:
- You must enter the GSC and register for the nine hole competition on the computers as per any other game.
- You must play with at least one other member who has selected this option (necessary for recording purposes).
- Playing with another member who is playing socially and not recording a score to be submitted is not allowed.
- Recording will be done on MiClub as per any other competitive round.
- You will sign off your score as per usual.
- Manual score cards will not be possible.
- Play in this category is only permitted after the normal field and in the ‘Social Play’ category of the timesheets. Please remember to pre-book your time and click on the nine hole option.
- There are no prizes associated with this new initiative,
Please be aware that 9 hole handicapping will be processed the day following the score submission in some cases.
I would like to thank the Engagement Committee for recommending this opportunity. While it was intended to introduce this program earlier there were delays due to the difficulty in recording on the course set up during renovations and then the changeover in the handicapping system.
I am sure that this new opportunity will provide an extended level of competition and enjoyment to those who choose to participate. With daylight saving time upon us there will be an excellent opportunity to play during the week after work.
