Important Membership Announcement

Published on 20th March 2026 in Guests News, Latest News, Public Latest News

I am delighted to share the news with all of our members that our membership is now at capacity. This is a pleasing situation for the club, and it demonstrates, in the most tangible way, the faith people have in our club now and into the future.

Now that our membership is full, we are unable to admit any new full or restricted members until vacancies arise. New applicants are being advised of the waitlist options and encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot.

This situation has some implications for all current members, and I urge you to take a few moments to read on so you understand how this may affect you, particularly if you are considering a change in your membership status in the near future.

What happens if I want to downgrade my membership to a lower level, such as moving from an A or B Grade membership back to C Grade or Social Membership?
At present, we are unable to accommodate any membership downgrades. If you would like to request a downgrade, we can place your name on a waiting list and a staff member will contact you should a position become available. Please find the link below to register your interest.

Does this mean that Category C and Social Memberships are closed to new members?
Yes, these categories are now at capacity.

What happens if I have a legitimate medical reason for wanting to downgrade my membership?
If you find yourself unable to play due to medical reasons, then of course you may apply to move to the Social ‘Medical’ category in accordance with the club’s Medical Policy. Applications do require supporting medical documentation and will be reviewed by the Membership Committee. Members approved for this category must remain in it for a minimum period of three months. The full Medical Policy can be viewed here: CLICK HERE

If you are currently in the Social ‘Medical’ category and wish to remain in this category after June 30 this year, our office may request that you re-verify your medical circumstances.

What happens if I want to upgrade my membership to a higher category, such as moving from Social or Category C membership to Category A membership?
At present we cannot move you into a higher membership category because we’re at capacity. But if you are thinking about upgrading, please contact the office and let them know or register your interest via the link below. They’ll place your name on a waiting list and then when vacancies occur, you’ll be advised.

I am one of the 55 people who recently joined as a Restricted Category A member. Does this mean I will now have to wait longer to move up to full membership?
No. No further members have been allowed to join Category A since you joined. And if any of our existing members in a lower category apply to move up to Category A, they will not ‘jump the queue’ and go ahead of you. When vacancies occur in Category A, our Restricted Members will automatically move up to fill these vacancies and become full members. The order in which this happens is on a ‘first-joined, first-served’ basis.

Can I still invite guests to play?
Yes. Members may introduce up to three guests at any one time. The same visitor may not be introduced more than once within a calendar month.

Guests may be booked online or via the Golf Services Centre on the following days and times, in line with standard timesheet opening times:

Monday: All Day
Tuesday: All Day
Wednesday: PM Field Only
Thursday: PM Field Only
Friday: All Day
Sunday: PM Field Only

Timesheet demand will continue to be monitored while the Club is operating at capacity and during upcoming course works. Depending on booking pressures, guest access arrangements may be reviewed to ensure that member access is not adversely impacted.

If someone asks me about joining the club, what should I say?
Encourage them to contact the club to discuss the waiting list options available. The sooner they do that, the less time they’ll have to wait to be invited to join in the future.

If you have any questions about your membership, please don’t hesitate to contact the office.

Member Forum

Finally, please put Wednesday, May 13, at 6:30pm in your diary for our next Member Forum. There are lots of interesting things happening at the moment, not least of which is our stage 2 of capital works, which will commence in July. There’ll be detailed information shared about this at the Member Forum, so please come along to hear about this and be part of the discussion. I look forward to seeing you there.

Regards

Steve Foulds
Club President
