Heritage Foundation
The Members Heritage Fund was set up under a Deed of Establishment for the purpose of improving Club facilities.
Over 70 years ago, our forefathers had the outstanding foresight and commitment to set the foundations for making Spring Valley the great club it is today. Members can help continue that vision by supporting the Heritage Fund in achieving its aims as set out in the Deed of Establishment.
Since the Heritage Fund was formed, thanks to the outstanding generosity of fellow members it has raised over $400,000 and completed significant capital improvement projects, including –
- Alfresco Terrace and Furniture
- On Course Food and Beverage Cart
- Refurbishment of On Course Toilets
- Automated entrance gates
- Roadside light bollards
- Brush fencing along Heatherton Road
- Renovation of the Giant golf ball behind the 13thtee
We commend the Fund to all Members and recommend you support the activities of it whenever possible.
OPERATIONS OF THE FUND
- Fundraising functions, e.g. raffles, golf days etc, where the funds raised are designated for a project selected by the Trustees from options presented to the Fund by the Board.
- Tax deductable – donations by members to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).
- Bequests, donations and gifts from members directly to the Heritage Fund.
The Heritage Fund Trustees greatly appreciate the support of all members who believe donating or leaving a bequest to the Members’ Heritage Fund is an appropriate way of recognising the friendships enjoyed and the enrichment of their lives gained through membership of Spring Valley Golf Club.
THE AUSTRALIAN SPORTS FOUNDATION – SPORT INCENTIVE PROGRAM
To make a tax deductible donation to the ASF in support of the Club’s registered Facility Improvement Project, please do so by either completing an online donation via the ASF website (www.asf.org.au, this saves a 2% Fee being deducted by the ASF for administration costs) or downloading this Heritage ASF Donation Form and leaving your completed form at the Club office.
Your President, Treasurer, General Manager or any Heritage Fund Trustee would be happy to discuss any matters concerning the Fund and its function and operation.
BEQUESTS
How do I leave a bequest for the Heritage Fund?
A simple amendment to your Will can ensure that your wishes are respected and acted upon by your trustee(s). Suggested wording for a bequest is set out in the Heritage section of the Club’s website, but you should seek your own legal advice.
How will my bequest be acknowledged?
Unless a member requests otherwise, the fact that a member has made a provision in his/her Will (but not the amount) will be recorded in the Heritage Fund Register.
How are the funds to be utilised?
Capital funds will be preserved and the revenue generated will be applied to non-operating expenditure of the Club aimed, specifically, at enhancing the facilities of the Club.
