AGM & Member Forum
Published on 31st October 2025 in Guests News, Latest News, Public Latest NewsWednesday evening saw more than 100 members attend the 77th AGM, and Member forum at the Club. The Annual Report, Income Statement and Statement of Financial Position were all confirmed. The Annual report has been emailed to all members previously, and is now published in the Member Handbook, HERE.
The President addressed those present on the year that was, outlining the highlights, in particular the remarkable turnaround from significant budgeted losses to an operational surplus, highlighting the increase in members and other revenue centres as a significant factor.
Other highlights included the support shown by members across the board, in particular those who contributed to the debenture offer, and the completion of stage one of the master plan.
The Chairman thanked all of the Board & Sub Committee Members for their contribution and the staff for their hard work, noting that results achieved financially and operationally are a direct reflection of their efforts and professionalism.
In closing, the Chairman noted that 2024-25 was, in many ways, a very good year for the club, and the two immediate challenges moving forward were how to continue with and complete our capital works program in a manner that you, and all of our members, are happy to support; and how to grow the revenue of our club and build our financial reserves in order for us to not only maintain the course at a higher level going forward, but for us to make ongoing investment in the course and club facilities.
The AGM saw the following Members elected unopposed to office:
PRESIDENT: Steve Foulds
VICE PRESIDENT: Michael Hill
CAPTAIN: Marty Rodgers
VICE CAPTAIN: John Scheffer
TREASURER: John Levy
The following Members were elected to Board positions after there were 6 nominees for 5 positions. Kim Boehm, Matthew Delahunty, James Henneberry, Megan Peart, & Brad Stone. The Chairman congratulated all concerned for their election to the Board, and thanked the candidate who was not elected, Brett Shemmell.
The Chairman introduced and outlined the extension of the Loyalty program, known as Diamond Membership. This was offered to, and accepted by:
- Margaret McMahen
- Geoff Power
- Ron Toe
- Marlene Black
- Michael Burke
- Laurie Pay
- Harry Marks
The Chairman noted that this was offered In honour of their extraordinary 60 years of continuous membership with Spring Valley Golf Club. Their enduring loyalty, commitment, and contribution to the spirit of our club have set the highest standard for fellowship and sportsmanship.
With deep gratitude, we recognise your progression to Diamond Loyalty Member.
Margaret McMahen, Ron Toe, Marlene Black & Michael Burke, all pictured below with President, Steve Foulds, were on hand to accept their certificates and Michael Bourke provided some words of thanks on behalf of the diamond members.

After the AGM, there was a Member Forum that provided an insight into the next steps, and a where to from here. There will be more shared on this in the coming days, but the highlight was no doubt the confirmation of Stage Two of the course works that will take place next year, and an insight into the thinking of what may be on the cards for works beyond that. As I mentioned, more to follow on the Forum, so watch this space.
