{"id":11996,"date":"2019-04-17T09:59:55","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T23:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=11996"},"modified":"2023-06-20T17:48:39","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T07:48:39","slug":"heatherton-park-improvement-works-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/heatherton-park-improvement-works-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Heatherton Park- Improvement works."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members using our Heatherton road entrance will have noticed that the City of Kingston has undertaken soil cover improvement works at the Heatherton Park closed landfill site.<\/p>\n<div class=\"archives-wrap\">\n<p>The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is maintaining a state-wide focus on the management of closed landfill sites and these works are to ensure Council maintains a healthy and safe space for residents to continue to enjoy this beautiful local park for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>We have completed an extensive investigation program across the park, to map the existing soil cover over the former landfill area; as such we have found some areas that require additional soil cover to satisfy EPA requirements.<\/p>\n<p>These works are aimed at ensuring compliance with EPA requirements and the park\u2019s ongoing availability to residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Works will involve<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stripping the grass surface, placement of additional soil and re-grassing a number of areas across approximately 20% of the park.<\/li>\n<li>Existing garden beds, trees and playground areas will not be disturbed.<\/li>\n<li>Work will be undertaken in stages and the park will remain open throughout the process.<\/li>\n<li>Active work areas will be fenced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the summer months, there may be some issues with soil creating a dust hazard; every effort will be made to minimise this by the contractor.<\/li>\n<li>Please rest assured it will be safe for you and your family to use the park while works are underway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Noise<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works will mean large soil moving trucks will move in and out of the park over the nine month period; every effort will be made to ensure trucks minimise the use of residential streets.<\/li>\n<li>Further information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At present Management has contacted the Contractors and \u00a0city of Kingston Council with our concerns of the visual delaminating and deterioration of the road surface.<\/p>\n<p>Management will provide Members with an update shortly.<\/p>\n<p>Works will continue until around late June 2019. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members using our Heatherton road entrance will have noticed that the City of Kingston has undertaken soil cover improvement works at the Heatherton Park closed landfill site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[29],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11996","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-guests-news"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11996","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/12"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11996"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11996\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":11997,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11996\/revisions\/11997"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11996"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=11996"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.springvalleygolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=11996"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
