About Vern Morcom
Vern’s father Mick was the head greenkeeper at Royal Melbourne at the time Dr Alister MacKenzie formed a partnership with Alex Russell which influenced much of the design work at some of Melbourne’s finest courses. Russell, a member of Royal Melbourne, set about implementing the “MacKenzie and Russell” designs with the assistance of Mick Morcom.
Vern Morcom also had experience of golf courses as the greenkeeper at Kingston Heath and both he and his father have left a significant legacy having been credited with designing over 80 courses around Australia.
